Just like that, we're one month into fall. It's hard to believe that kids have been at school for six weeks now. The leaves have begun to fall and change colors, with Thanksgiving less than five weeks away.

Before the holiday season, we have to get through the rest of spooky season. Halloween is 10 days away and this is when parents start to try and buy the costumes for trick-or-treating.

It's also smart to keep an eye on the forecast. Because trick-or-treating requires you to be outdoors (generally speaking), the weather is important. The perfect Halloween weather is low-to-mid 50's with no rain or wind to speak of.

Unfortunately, it looks as if that won't be the case this year. The weather forecast doesn't looks that great right now.

The Weather Channel is forecasting highs in Buffalo only in the mid-40's, with low's into the 30's. There's a 50% chance of rain for October 31st as well, which means kids might have to bring a rain jacket with them.

Buffalo has had a few rainy Halloweens in recent years. The worst weather Halloweens were in 2014 (non-stop rain) and 2019 (rain into snow showers, with high winds and power outages).

We're still 10 days out, so hopefully at the very least that rain get come and go before trick-or-treating. As for the temperatures, it's likely to remain cold, so probably bring a jacket for the kids before leaving the house. Low's in the 30's mean you have to wear layers, especially if it's at all windy.
