Help Repair Veterans Posts In Erie County
We can't thank our dedicated service members enough! When the brave men and women of the Armed Forces return home, they should have a comfortable place to rest, relax and engage with other Veterans. However, many of the Veterans Posts in Erie County are getting old and need a few updates, including access for those who are physically challenged.
This week, we spoke with Erie County Clerk, Mickey Kearns about the Pledge For The Posts fundraising events that are planned around Erie County this summer. If you are downtown to see the Blue Jays play, there is also an opportunity for you to purchase a flag and join in the fundraising.
In a press release from Erie County Clerk Kearns, it was mentioned that...
On June 15, 16, and 17 between 4pm-7pm prior to the Blue Jays games, County Clerk Kearns, area veterans and volunteers will be stationed near the corner of Ellicott and Swan Streets directly across from the Swan Street gate at Sahlen Field, requesting a donation for American Flag cutouts for $1.00 each. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go towards the Veterans Post Restoration fund.
We love to support our Veterans and are happy to get behind this great effort to restore and upgrade the local Veterans Posts around the area. Many of which were built back on the 1950s and 1960s!
