Hunting with a Rifle Approved in Genesee County
Hunting season is just weeks away. It may be hard to believe, but August is only days away and for those that hunt for deer in Genesee County, it may be time to shop for a rifle.
The use of a rifle while hunting for deer in Genesee County has been approved on a permanent basis. There had been a probationary time for hunters to see what (if any) problems or safety concerns may have occurred.
Hunting with a rifle has been in place in 4 other counties in Western New York including...Wyoming, Cattaraugus, Allegany and Chautauqua Counties.
Erie, Niagara and Orleans Counties still restrict the use of a rifle during deer season.
