Jordan Phillips Is Officially Back With The Bills
While it was just speculation yesterday, the Buffalo Bills made it official today that they have re-signed another one of their former players.
On Tuesday, as the clock ticked closer to the NFL trade deadline, people started to wonder why the Buffalo Bills didn't do something to shore up a defensive line that had recently seen some major injuries. Both rookie DeWayne Carter and Dawuane Smoot were recently added to Injured Reserve and will be missing multiple weeks. That leaves DaQuan Jones, Ed Oliver, Austin Johnson, and recently acquired Zion Logue in the middle of the line.
Suddenly at the deadline, former Buffalo Bill Jordan Phillips put something on his Instagram page that made people take notice. Over the summer he signed with the New York Giants and then was traded to the Dallas Cowboys. Yesterday he was cut from the Cowboys after not seeing the field due to a wrist injury. Then he posted a picture of himself in a Bills uniform on his Instagram page saying "Run it back."
There wasn't an official announcement. No one had any inside story that a deal had been done, but immediately fans jumped on and welcomed him back with open arms.
Today, the Bills finally made it official by posting it on their socials that they had brought back not only Jordan Phillips, but also Quinton Jefferson on one-year deals.
This week the Bills will take on the Indianapolis Colts with Jonathan Taylor. While Taylor hasn't seen the production this year that he has in the past, he can still be a very dangerous runningback that the Bills will have to account for.
