New York State Residents Want To Avoid This Fruit
A recent recall for a specific fruit has been extended and updated as a few more people have become sick after eating it.
There is a salmonella outbreak that has health officials concerned about cantaloupe and now the CDC is reporting that the recall is extended.
If you have cantaloupe at home, it is best to toss it if you are unclear where it is from or if it is part of the current recall.
According to the CDC website:
This outbreak may not be limited to the states with known illnesses, and the true number of sick people is likely much higher than the number reported. This is because many people recover without medical care and are not tested for Salmonella.
What are the symptoms of salmonella? The CDC spells it out on their website.
Most people with a Salmonella infection experience:
Diarrhea (that can be bloody)
Fever.
Stomach cramps.
