One-Hit Wonder Dust Off: “Burning House” by Cam

Haunting. That's the word that immediately comes to mind when you hear "Burning House" by Cam. It's a song that can stop you in your tracks when you hear it.

Cam (born Camaron Marvel Ochs) is a singer-songwriter who first charted in the spring of 2015 with a song called, "My Mistake." It reached #52 on Billboard Country Airplay that May.

In June of 2015, her song "Burning House" would be released and see an overwhelming reaction from fans and radio, reaching #1 on the Mediabase country chart the week of Christmas. It peaked at #2 on Billboard Country Airplay.

Written by Cam, Jeff Bhasker and Tyler Johnson, "Burning House" would be included on Cam's album Untamed.

Cam's next single would be "Mayday", which only got to #32 on Billboard. Her final charting single was "Diane" in 2018, which didn't crack the top 40.

Even though Cam has only gotten one hit at country radio, her talent is without question. She got the idea for "Burning House" after she had a dream trying to rescue an ex-boyfriend from a burning house.
