Did Mighty Taco Actually Ban Putin?
A post resurfaced on Reddit this week after the latest news that Russia attacked Ukraine, displaying a Mighty Taco posted that supposedly banned Vladmir Putin from their restaurants.
But is it real?
It actually is! Back in 2014, Mighty Taco was ahead of the curve when they banned the Russian President from all of its locations around Western New York.
The poster reads:
“You may be ordering around the Crimea, Mr. Putin but you won’t be ordering a Super Mighty® around here anytime soon! No one likes a bully…so stop picking on people and maybe you will be welcomed back to Mighty Taco.”
It doesn’t look like Putin will be welcomed back at Mighty Taco anytime soon.
The Russian Federation and Ukraine have had tensions for years. Back in 2014 when Mighty Taco declared Putin to be hereby banned, the Russo-Ukrainian War began following the annexation of Crimea from Ukraine.
More recently, on February 23, 2022, Russia launched a military invasion of Ukraine across a broad front. Multiple reports came out overnight, detailing the explosions, bombings and Russian military vehicles entering Ukraine from various parts of the border with Russia – although many reports remain unconfirmed.
The invasion of Ukraine is something that many have feared for months, and for some people, years.
Earlier this week, Putin ordered troops into two pro-Russian, breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine, recognizing them as independent states.
Putin claimed he sent Russian troops into the region to act as “peacekeepers,” saying that the latest move could be a precursor to a larger invasion of Ukraine. Now that invasion is underway.
We’ll keep you up to date on the conflicts between Russia and Ukraine as we find out more.
Until then, be kind and share a Mighty Taco with someone.
