They tried for him three years ago, and today, it's official.  Jimmy Vesey is a Buffalo Sabre.

Yes, they tried for him in the past and were unsuccessful.  Three years ago the Sabres had acquired Vesey's rights from Nashville in 2016 after he refused to sign with the Predators. Vesey ultimately opted to become an unrestricted free agent instead of coming to Buffalo however.

But today, they got their man anyway.  The Sabres announced that they have acquired the forward from the New York Rangers in exchange for a third round draft pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

In 240 career games, Vesey has scored 90 points (50 goals, 40 assists).

Vesey has one year remaining on his contract at a cap hit of $2,275,000.
