Jason Pominville and Casey Mittelstadt scored third period goals to rally the Buffalo Sabres into a 4-4 tie with the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday night, but the Sabres lost in overtime 5-4.  Artemi Panarin scored the game winner just 31 seconds into overtime as the Blue Jackets won the faceoff and controlled the puck until Panarin scored.

Kyle Okposo opened the scoring early in the first period giving him a goal in his third straight game and Jeff Skinner scored his sixth of the season to give the Sabres a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.  But the Blue Jackets dominated the second period with three straight goals including a pair just 31 seconds apart for a 4-2 lead.

The third period was the Sabres' turn to control play including the one by Mittelstadt on the power play that tied the score.  Linus Ulmark took the loss after opening the season with a pair of wins.  Ulmark stopped 32 shots.

Even though they lost, the overtime loss extends the Sabres point streak to four straight games.

The Sabres are back home Tuesday night to host the Calgary Flames.
