It looks like the UB Bulls football team is primed for a good year if the team gets a chance to play this year. Several Bulls players landed on national Pre-Season watch lists.

Both Jaret Patterson and Kevin Marks were on the Doak Walker pre-season list for Top running back.

Taylor Riggins was on both the Bednarik/Bronko Nagurski watch list for the best defensive player.

Malcolm Koonce is on the Bronko Nagurski watch list for best defensive player.

Tyrone Hill is on the Jim Thorpe watch list for top defensive back.

Kayode Awoskie is on the Outland Trophy watch list for an interior lineman.

Max Michel is on the Wuerffel Trophy watch list for the player who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.

No UB Bull Football player has ever won a major national award.

The Bulls have had 11 players drafted to the NFL since the AFL/NFL merger including Kahlil Mack who was selected 4th overall by the Oakland Raiders in the 2014 draft.

Overall the UB Bulls have won one MAC conference championship in 2008 and have gone 1-3 in Bowl games, with their only win coming last year over Charlotte in the Bahamas Bowl.

If the Bulls end up playing this year, they are scheduled to open up the season on the road against Kansas State on September 5th.

Their schedule game against Ohio State on September 19th has already been canceled by the Big 10 conference.
