Sources Confirm Eric Wood Has Sustained A Career-Ending Injury
This breaks my heart. He is my favorite current player in the NFL and sources have now confirmed that it's Eric Wood that has sustained a career ending injury.
The former Louisville Cardinals player was drafted in the first round of the 2009 draft and has been a force on the field ever since coming to Buffalo.
Although the Bills have not yet had a press conference to announce it, multiple sources are saying that he has sustained a career ending neck injury.
As of right now, we do not know what caused the injury but WGRZ's Adam Begnini is reporting that it is based on more than one incident and it is of a degenerative nature.
Wood was always easy to spot in his #70 with his curly hair on the sidelines firing up his team. We will miss seeing him on the field. Heck, we've even seen him at a number of our concerts like this past year's Taste of Country when he came out to sing with Michael Ray.
We send our thoughts and prayers to Eric and his family, as this is undoubtedly a difficult time for him. If you would like to thank Eric for his service not just to the Bills but to the city of Buffalo as well, you can donate to the Eric Wood Fund, which supports the Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation.
The Bills have announced a press conference for Monday at 1pm for more details.
