The Bear That’s Been Seen In Amherst Has Been Euthanized
We have been following the sightings for weeks now of a bear that has been seen in Amherst. However, it has now been euthanized.
It had the wow factor right off the block. There was a bear running through the streets of Amherst? People were immediately on the lookout.
It was found running through the streets and in and out of traffic. Then a few days ago, it was hit by a car and still escaped traffic.
According to WIVB, police were called to Renaissance Dr. and Convent Garden Lane after the bear was seen in a resident's yard.
It was determined that the bear was a danger to people in the area and also that it had an injury to its leg after being hit by the car.
With the safety of the residents of Amherst in mind, the animal was euthanized by the officers who arrived on scene.
