The Last K-Mart in Buffalo Set to Close

The last K-Mart in Buffalo will be closing.

Once a mainstay of back-to-school shopping, K-Mart and its Layaway program, will soon be history in Erie County.

The Buffalo News reports the K-Mart at 1001 Hertel Ave., will close by mid-December. Liquidation sales will begin later this month.

"The company said it made the "difficult but necessary decision" to close the store "after careful review," the Buffalo News reports.
