Heat and Extreme Heat Advisories Warning In New York State

This week will be a hot one across New York State. The National Weather Service has issued heat and extreme heat advisories for most of New York State. Here is what to expect where you live.

Western New York - Heat advisory issued for most of the region from Noon today until 8 pm today. High Temperatures could reach over 90 degrees, with the heat index reaching 100 degrees or more.

There is an extreme heat watch in place for parts of Western New York from Wednesday morning until Friday morning.


 

Central New York - A heat advisory is in place from Noon today until 8 pm, then an extreme heat advisory will be in place for the region from Wednesday morning until Friday morning. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s and into the lower 90s.

 

Eastern and Downstate New York State

If you have to be out in this weather, make sure you stay hydrated, find shade, and avoid spending too much time in direct sun.
