West Falls, New York To Honor Veterans With Tribute Banners
There really are no words that can express the gratitude we have for the veterans of this great nation. Here in Western New York, thousands of brave men and women have given their lives for our freedom and many more have sacrificed so much to serve in foreign lands and protect the United States of America.
This November, as we celebrate Veterans Day, we recognize all who have served and continue to serve our country, whether here at home, or stationed across the globe.
I’ll never forget how proud I felt the first time I saw my oldest brother come home in his full United States Marine Corps dress uniform. I was only six years old, and to me, he looked like a superhero stepping off that plane. It remains one of the most memorable moments of my life and my parents were so proud of the man he had become.
Honoring Veterans In West Falls and Western New York
That story is shared by countless families across the nation by proud parents, brothers, sisters, and children watching their loved ones answer the call to serve in the United States military.
In honor of those who have served, organizers in West Falls, New York are launching a special community program that will display banners featuring the names and photos of local service men and women.
This will be the first tribute of its kind in West Falls, though other towns across New York State have hosted similar displays. It’s a powerful way to honor our local heroes and recognize the sacrifices made by veterans and their families.
