According to WIVB Weather, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Southern Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Wyoming counties from late Saturday night through Monday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the same counties from 6 am Saturday to 1 am on Sunday.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for Northern Erie, Niagara, Genesse and Orleans counties from 9 am on Saturday to 9 am on Sunday.

All in all, a foot of snow or more could fall in the southern tier with around 6 inches expected in the Buffalo metro. This from the National Weather Service.

The snow early on Saturday will shift to sleet and rain before going back to all snow on Saturday during the overnight and eventually shifting to lake effect. Make sure to drive carefully if you're traveling over the weekend.
