A Buffalo-area priest will be inducted into the Wall of Honor at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park on November 10th, nearly 75 years after he enlisted in the United States Army during World War II.  96-year old Msgr. Dino J. Lorenzetti served as a Staff Sergeant in Northern Africa and Italy from November, 1942 until he was honorably discharged in December, 1945.

Msgr. Lorenzetti was born in Buffalo and served in a number of parishes in the Buffalo Catholic Diocese.  He was the pastor at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Orchard Park from 1977 to 1996.  He also was the Diocesan Director of Family Life and served on the Bishop's Committee for Christian Home and Family.

He was ordained a priest in 1953 and even at the age of 96 Msgr. Lorenzetti still celebrates Mass on a fill-in basis.  Each year he gets together with the families of the men he served during the war to offer a Mass.

The Wall of Honor at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval and Military Park is a permanent tribute to the men and women from Western New York who served in the armed forces in wars and military actions around the world.
