Duck season recently opened and some friends and I were talking about the limited places to hunt these days. With more hunters and less marshes to hunt, it has become very competitive. Perhaps this new spot will be what we needed?

According to a report from the New York State Department of Conservation, land was purchased and has been made to be a place for recreation.

The primary purposes of Clear Lake Wildlife Management Area (WMA) are for wildlife management, wildlife habitat management, and wildlife-dependent recreation, such as hunting, fishing, trapping, and wildlife viewing. Located on the north side of Genesee Road and west of NYS Route 75, this 526-acre parcel includes the Clear Lake Reservoir. This area's diverse habitat includes the lake, mature forest, wetlands, bushland, and open fields.

This sounds like a hunter's paradise! The geese and ducks seem to be flying in mass numbers in that area of Erie County every year and now hunters will have access to it.

But more than just hunting. kayaking, fishing and other outdoor activities are possible at Clear Lake Wildlife Management Area.

We recently bought some land for our family to enjoy. It has a mixed use as well. From a marshy area to lots of open space for the kids to enjoy, it is a place we can escape from the day to day rush of things and unwind!
