The race was supposed to happen on Sunday but moved to Monday evening after several rain delays.

This Daytona 500 was the talk of the sports world on Monday night, because of the dramatic finish.

Denny Hamlin edged out Ryan Blaney for his third Daytona 500 victory (second-closest in Daytona 500 history) but it was the crash of Ryan Newman in the final turn with Blaney that had everyone on edge.

Nobody knew of the exact condition of Newman in the two hours after the horrific crash (honestly, the worst I've ever seen in NASCAR) but there was finally good news on his condition around 10 p.m. EST on Monday.

It's one of the most dangerous sports and that proved itself on Monday night. Scary scene when Newman flipped over like that and everyone had to wait on his status.

Thankfully, even though he's in serious condition, his injuries are non-life-threatening according to doctors, which is the most important thing about the race on Monday.
