For the first time this month the Buffalo Sabres have back to back wins.  Sam Reinhart scored a power play goal early in the second period and the Sabres made it hold up until Evander Kane scored the clinching goal, his 19th of the season late in the third for a 2-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

The Sabres dominated this game and if not for some great goaltending in the Colorado net the score would have been much higher.  The Avalanche also had luck on their side with shots by Ryan O'Reilly and Zach Bogosian hitting the goalpost.

Meanwhile at the other end of the ice Robin Lehner stopped 23 shots to pick up his fifth career shutout and second this season.

With the win the Sabres move to within three points of Toronto for the final playoff spot.  The Sabres remain home to host St. Louis on Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening against Chicago.
