According to WIVB, crews started installing a gantry in Selkirk, NY that will read either "E-ZPass" or have people pay by mail after a photo of their license plate is taken.

This gantry is one of the first built in the state. The project will include 70 gantries along the 570-mile NYS thruway.

According to the NYS Thruway Authority, the majority of the work will be done over the summer.

All of the thruway in New York State is expected to be cashless tolls by the end of 2020.
