It's that time of the year that you have to be cognizant of heat.

Late July and early August are usually the two hottest weeks of the year, although the last several days have been a little cooler than normal. Still, this is the time of the year to be on the watch for potential fires around Western New York.

If you were driving through Hamburg, particularly on Route 5 by the FedEx plant and St. Francis High School on Tuesday late morning, then you likely saw smoke in the air.
