If you have stopped to fill up over the past couple of days, you may have noticed that the price of gas has taken a massive dip. The cost of gas has gone down a lot since the start of June

Gas Prices Dropping Across New York State

It seems like the price of everything is going up, but there is some good news on the inflation front: the cost of gas is dropping.

At the time of this writing, AAA said the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in New York State was around $4.31. That is down 2 cents from yesterday and down 11 cents from last week.

Even better news, even though gas stations had to switch over to the more expensive to produce "Summer Blend" of gas on June 1st, the price of a gallon of regular gas in New York is down almost 30 cents from last month.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in New York in May was around $4.60, and today it is down to $4.31.

We are still way up compared to last year. In June of 2025, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas was around $3.13. We are up almost $1.20 per gallon this year.

Where To Find The Cheapest Gas Prices In New York State

If you want to save on gas, you will want to head over to Nassau County. Currently, the average price of gas is $4.11, which is the cheapest average in the entire state of New York.

The highest average price for gas is in Hamilton County, where gas prices are around $4.49 per gallon.
