It's one thing if you're a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, quite another if you're a fan of the Buffalo Sabres.  The Maple Leafs scored three goals in a span of only 43 seconds Monday night early in the first period and for all intents and purposes the game was over.  The Leafs went on to beat the Sabres 4-2, but the final score doesn't indicate how lopsided the game actually was.

So you have to wonder how an NHL team can surrender three straight goals in less than a minute.  Regardless of how much or how little you're playing for there has to be a certain amount of pride and the Sabres showed they don't have much.

The Sabres managed only two shots in the first period while the Leafs with their eye on a playoff spot directed 18 on the Buffalo net.  The Leafs finished with a 45 to 22 edge in shots for the game.  It showed the Sabres just didn't come ready to play and you have to wonder what's going on inside the locker room.  What's going on within the minds of the players.

We certainly know what's happening with the Leafs.  They're a young, exciting team headed for the playoffs and who knows how far they can go in the near future.
