Lake Effect Snow Bands To Impact The Drive Home And Evening Hours

According to WIVB, lake effect snow bands will be intensifying south of Buffalo this afternoon and into tonight.

Some of the heavier snow will impact the immediate southtowns by late afternoon, making the drive home less than ideal.

Lake effect will also impact north of Buffalo as snow bands across Lake Ontario will shift south into Northern Erie and Genesee counties before ending in the southern tier by Saturday morning.

1-3 inches of snow is expected today with 1-3 additional totals by overnight.

Many people will be commuting during the time the snow bands will impact across Western New York, so drive carefully and leave yourself plenty of time.
