Saturday will feature snow, sleet and even rain for all of Western New York but Sunday is the day that dangerous travel conditions will occur, especially south of Buffalo.

According to the National Weather Service, a Lake Effect Snow Warning is in effect for Southern Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Wyoming counties from 1 am on Sunday until 4 am on Monday. The warning was issued Saturday afternoon.

Anywhere from 7-14 inches of snow is expected to fall but what will make travel even more difficult is the heavy winds. Gusts could be 50 mph, causing white-out conditions. If you don't have to be anywhere south of Buffalo on Sunday, best to stay indoors for sure.

Buffalo and north of the city aren't off the hook, however, as a Winter Weather Advisory still remains in effect. The metro could see 6 inches of snow. The rain that falls today could also turn into ice, so that will cause headaches for travel as well.

I saw a couple of accidents on Saturday so definitely take some extra time traveling anywhere in Western New York today.
