Monitor Devices Will Pop Up Across Western New York
The spring is finally here and across Western New York, families are enjoying the Easter recess from school.
The weather sure has not felt like spring. In fact, there is a good chance that you have seen some snow flying around the Southtowns this week. There seems to be only two seasons here in the Buffalo area: winter and construction season.
Those two seasons have come together this month as the New York State DOT has installed some new monitoring devices around the area.
What Are These Monitoring Devices?
According to a post on Facebook that I found from last year, these devices have been used in other New York State areas as well as WNY in the past. In Pittsford, the Supervisor posted the following.
"Traffic Counting Cameras set up by the NY State Department of Transportation"
The New York State DOT is using these tracking devices for research on busier roads around the state.

It is that time of the year when many people are heading out on road trips or starting to get into a new routine with kids' sports practice, camps, and other summer fun. The roads are getting more and more congested.
Where Are They Being Installed in Western New York?
There are going to be various locations for these cameras, but I found one that was installed on Boston State Road/391 near the Village of Hamburg, next to the intersection of Newton Road.
The Village of Hamburg is growing and growing and there is a ton of traffic in and out of the village these days. Particularly when the weekend rolls around.
