Nashville Notes – Live Acts Announced For ACM Awards

Cody Johnson isn’t a believer in participation trophies. He had some tough words for artists who complain when they aren’t nominated for awards, saying the spend too much time whining and being jealous, instead of focusing on being a better artist.

Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Brandi Carlile, Eric Church, Kelly Clarkson, Luke Combs, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, and Ashley McBryde have all been added to the list of performers for the ACMs.

Jake Owen seems the type to like to mess around with his friends and bandmates -- and he is. He’ll make last minute improvisations to songs on stage, telling the All Our Favorite People podcast, “When I'm out on the road with the guys in my band. There are a lot of nights where I'll [say] to myself 'I'm going to play this next note or go into this part of this weird song just to see if my band can follow me.”
