As of last night at 8pm, county executive Mark Poloncarcz made the announcement that there would be a ban on tractor trailers and buses on many major routes across Western New York.

According to WIVB, the routes involved are:

I-190

I-290

NY 400

US 219 from Peters Rd to I-90

NY 5 from NY 179 to I-190

Thruway from Exit 46 to PA line

The reason for the ban is that obviously, driving is very dangerous during this storm.  A tractor trailer that gets jackknifed can cause holdups that are very lengthy.  While speaking at a news conference this morning, Governor Andrew Cuomo said that it could take hours to clear a tractor trailer from the road after an accident.

He said, this is not a suggestion.  This is a law and is warning that state police and local police agencies are on the lookout for people who are breaking the law.  He adds that people who break that law will be ticketed and the fines will be steep.
