According to WGRZ, Regal Cinemas announced that they are suspending operations at movie theaters across both New York State and California.

The email that the company sent out to its Regal Crown Club members says:

"Operations will be suspended until the public health and operational environment allows for the resumption of a full release slate."

This news comes just a couple of weeks after it was announced Regal would open a handful of theaters in Western New York, including the Walden Galleria and Quaker Crossing locations.

Regal said it will share future reopening plans once the key markets offer a more concrete plan on their reopening status, along with studio companies bringing major movie releases back to theaters.

Very disappointing news for moviegoers in Western New York and the entire state. It's been a dreadful year for the movie theater industry and I can't imagine how difficult this must be for people who work in the industry.
