After a disappointing overtime loss in Washington the Buffalo Sabres head to Carolina for a game that could determine which team gets a playoff spot.  The Sabres rallied from a 2-nothing deficit to take a 4-3 lead late in the game against the Capitals, but the Caps got a power play goal in the final minute of regulation, then Alex Ovechkin scored the game winner in overtime on a shot that deflected off a Sabres' stick and a skate to give the Caps a 5 to 4 win.  The Sabres still pick up a point in the standings to move into seventh place in the Eastern Conference, one point up on the New York Rangers and two points up on ninth place Carolina.  The Hurricanes beat the Islanders 4 to 2 to set up Sunday's showdown.

Bottom line, Sunday's game between the Sabres and Hurricanes is huge.  Both teams have four games left.
