The Buffalo Sabres turned in their second straight dismal game on the west coast Thursday night giving up a pair of power play goals in the first four minutes of the game and that was enough for the San Jose Sharks on their way to a 5-1 win.  Logan Couture led the way with a hat trick including one into an empty net in the final minute.

For the Sabres their wretched play on the power play both with the man advantage and defending against it continues to kill them.  The Sabres went 0 for 5 against the Sharks after going 0 for 6 against Vegas on Tuesday.  In the last four games the Sabres have connected just once on 21 opportunities.

Meanwhile the Sabres are dong a miserable defending against the power play.  The Sharks scored three times with the man advantage after Vegas scored one power play goal and scored one shorthanded.  Buffalo's special teams play needs lots of work.

Jake McCabe scored Buffalo lone Buffalo goal in the second period to make it 2-1, but the Sharks dominated the third period and scored three times to coast to the win.

The Sabres play the L-A Kings on Saturday and Anaheim on Sunday before returning home.
