The Buffalo Sabres lost to the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night at KeyBank Center by a score of 6-2, which isn’t a huge surprise since the Blues are the hottest team in the NHL.

Still, the Buffalo Sabres have been a different team since the New Year. They won’t make the playoffs in 2022 but many fans will be thinking playoffs in 2023 based on their improvement. Goaltending will be a huge question mark until they can get Devon Levi or Erik Portillo in Rochester.

It’s the most likable Sabres team in a long time. Probably in a decade, honestly. Alex Tuch, Tage Thompson, Kyle Okposo, Jeff Skinner, Rasmus Dahlin, Mattis Samuelsson, Peyton Krebs — it’s obvious they enjoy spending time with each other off the ice and play together as a unit on the ice.

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott was at the Sabres game last night and even spent time behind the bench with Sabres head coach Don Granato.

McDermott went inside the Sabres locker room before the game and gave them moving speech.

Check out the video below.

McDermott has given similar speeches to the Buffalo Bills before and it’s cool that the two teams are close enough to share insights and ideas with one another.

The Sabres have six games left in the season, with a home and home series with the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday and Sunday. The first game on Saturday night will be in Buffalo. Sunday’s game will be in Philadelphia. That one is a 5 pm face off on Easter Sunday.
