The Buffalo Sabres continue to battle for a playoff spot and helped their own cause by beating the New York Rangers in New York Friday night 4 to 1.  Drew Stafford led the way with a pair of goals while linemate Tyler Ennis and Travis Turnbull, playing in his second game for the Sabres scored the other Buffalo goals.

Ryan Miller picked up the win stopping 26 shots.

It's the Sabres' first victory over the Rangers in four games this season.

The win combined with Washington's overtime loss to Winnipeg puts the Sabres and Capitals back into an 8th place tie with 7 games left to play.  The Sabres have a showdown meeting with the Capitals on Tuesday night in Washington.
