In a story that sounds very strange, SweetHearts candy will be returning this Valentine's Day holiday but don't expect sweet nothings written on the heart-shaped candy.

According to WIVB, because of production issues with Spangler Candy Company, the SweetHearts likely won't have inscribing on them...

The original makers of the candy NECCO, filed for bankruptcy in 2018 and Spangler bought the rights to the candy.

They couldn't get them out in time for last year but wanted to bring them back this year...unfortunately because of printing equipment being damaged on the way from Boston to Ohio (Spangler), the candies won't look the same as always.

People at Candy Store's website got 10 boxes and actually kept track of how many SweetHearts were missing any writing, which was 65 percent!

  • 3% of the SweetHearts were printed correctly
  • 8% had the writing cut off
  • 24% had writing but you can't tell what it says
  • 65% had nothing written entirely

There also won't be as many SweetHearts made available this year because of the production mishap.

You can't make this stuff up!
