Nashville Notes – That Time Jake Owen Told Off Phil Mickelson

Liquid courage and brutal honesty is a real thing...just ask Jake Owen. He was at Jordan Spieth’s wedding last fall and ran into Phil Mickelson. The wedding was the day after Phil and Tiger Woods had that $9M golf “showdown.”

Jake wanted an apology for the $29.99 he spent on the pay-per-view, and told an amazing story about his run-in with Mickelson (FYI, the video below has some un-bleeped curse words...Jake Owen is very passionate about how much he spends on watching golf).

Loretta Lynn’s 87th birthday is April 14, but her big birthday concert happened earlier this week in Nashville. It was an all-star affair -- Garth Brooks, George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Darius Rucker, Kacey Musgraves, Martina McBride, Alison Krauss and Jack White were all there. And Keith Urban granted Loretta’s birthday wish by jumping out of a cake!

Dan + Shay will join Kelly Clarkson on the Today Show tomorrow morning to announce the nominees for the Billboard Music Awards.

Sunday’s ACM awards have added Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, and Old Dominion to the long list of performers -- including Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Brothers Osborne, Kane Brown, Brandi Carlile, Eric Church, Kelly Clarkson, Luke Combs, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Khalid, Miranda Lambert, LANCO, Little Big Town, Ashley McBryde, Reba McEntire, Maren Morris, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, George Strait and Carrie Underwood will also be performing.
