The West Nile Virus has been confirmed in the Buffalo area.

The New York State Department of Health has found the 17th case of the West Nile Virus in Western New York.

The late Summer-early Fall is the peak season for mosquitoes carrying the virus.

It is important to note that not every person that gets the West Nile Virus will get sick. One in Five will get the symptoms of: headache, body aches, joint pains, vomiting, diarrhea, or rash.

If you think you've been infected, go see your doctor and it can be treated with medication.
