Why You NEVER Doubt A Western New York Farmer
Western New York just had one of the best weather days in months and now some are saying it might actually snow again next week?
The warm weather felt so good this past week. People were out walking, working in their yard and kids were on their bicycles everywhere! But those of us who have lived here our entire lives know all too well what Mother Nature might have in store.
My advice? Never doubt a farmer.

As we watch the rain fall this weekend, I am taken back to a conversation I had on Thursday with a local produce farmer in Hamburg.
What Is The Forecast For Western New York?
According to the National Weather Service, we are going to get some clearing this weekend and Sunday looks great!
For those who are planning outdoor events, Sunday is the better of the two days.
What Does The Farmer Say?
I was speaking with a local grower who told me they just planted their lettuce this past week. What can that mean? According to their records, snow! There is a good chance that when they plant lettuce, we will see some sort of snow in the next few days.
At this point, it looks like the temps might get chilly but hard to say for sure if it they will get cold enough to produce snow until the forecasts come out, officially, for the end of the week. However, for what it's worth, my iPhone app does call for flurries.
The extended forecast for next week for our area is calling for temperatures in the 50s and 60s and some overnight lows in the 40s.
Fingers crossed, this will be one of the years that the tradition of snow after planting lettuce does not hold true. However, I rarely doubt what a farmer knows!
