It’s officially that time of year: cuffing season. The “season” officially starts in September when the weather starts to get a little chillier, but it’s the idea that singles tend to make it official with a new significant other ahead of all the coupley holidays and colder days, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, all the way through Valentine’s Day.

Basically, it’s just the idea the relationships are more likely to start in the colder months.

So…if you are single and ready to mingle, there are a few ways to set yourself up for success, and avoiding this unique Buffalo food may be one of them.

Buffalo is home to the chicken wing, we know that….and while wings are delicious, it may be a food you should avoid during the dating process.

And if you’re shocked as to why, you know that it’s one of the messiest foods you can eat, right?

It’s delicious and all, but it’s not exactly a romantic food. In fact, it can be pretty unromantic when you are eating saucy wings with your bare hands and it’s getting all over your face. You don’t always get a moist towelette, so hopefully you remembered to bring your own….and then you may want to hold hands after dinner, right?

Good luck trying to hold hands without the leftover sauce residue sticking to the other person.

Then again, maybe it’s a strategy to get them “stuck to you” in sauce so that they never let go?

If you’re thinking about taking someone out for a first date and it’s early in the relationship, maybe steer clear of wings until at least date 5 when you become more comfortable with each other.

After all, you know what they say….”Great wings come to those who wait!”

That IS the saying, right? ;)
