Pretty sad when the only thing Buffalo Sabres fan can celebrate is when their team scores a goal.  Yep, after going more than 11 straight periods without a goal, the Sabres finally did manage to pop one in the net to make it 3-1 against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night, but that one goal was it.  The Penguins won the game 5-1.All of Pittsburgh star players scored - Malkin, Crosby, Hornqvist, Kessel as the Penguins swept the home and home series.

Jason Pominville scored the lone Buffalo goal with 8:42 remaining in the third period to end a team scoreless streak that had extended to more than 3 hours and 52 minutes of playing time.  The Sabres outshot the Penguins 33-28, but the Penguins made the most of their chances.

It was a much improved effort by the Sabres over that sorry display the night before, but it still didn't make a difference.  This is simply a very bad hockey team whose key players are invisible.  That makes it 12 losses in the last 13 games for this sorry Buffalo franchise.

The Sabres take their sad-sack show on the road for the next three games with stops in Denver, Chicago and St. Louis.
