Captain Brian Gionta's second goal of the game in overtime gave the Buffalo Sabres a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders on Saturday night in the Sabres' final game of the season.  Defenseman Mark Pysyk found Gionta all alone in front of Islanders goaltender Christopher Gibson and Gionta beat him with a quick shot to the top of the net.

Matt Moulson and Evan Rodrigues also scored for the Sabres.  The goal by Rodrigues was his first in the National Hockey League in his second game.  Hudson Fasching also registered his first assist in the NHL on Gionta's first goal of the game on a slap shot in the third period.

Linus Ullmark got the start in goal and stopped 21 shots to pick up the victory.

The Sabres finish the season 35-36-11 for 81 points, a 27-point improvement over the year before.  The team will be back at First Niagara Center on Sunday to clean out their lockers and for some it may be for the final time.
