The Buffalo Sabres were just 30 seconds away from winning their fifth straight road game when the Ottawa Senators scored to tie the score 2-2 sending the game into overtime where they won it 3-2.

Scott Wilson scored his third goal in four games to give Buffalo the early 1-0 lead and it remained 1-0 until the third period when the Senators finally figured out how to beat Robin Lehner to tie it 1-1.  Evan Rodrigues scored his fourth goal of the season to put Buffalo on top again, but with the goaltender out and an extra skater on the ice, the Senators tied it again.

In overtime the Sabres just couldn't generate any offense and it cost them.  The Senators scored on the only shot either team was able to manage in the overtime period.  Lehner ended up stopping 33 of 36 shots in the loss.

The Sabres are back home for a couple of matinee games.  They host the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday at 1:00, then the Washington Capitals are in town Monday at 3:00.
