You ever a law and think 'oh in the heck is that a law in New York State??'

Yesterday Clay saw a sign at the grocery store that said it was a felony to steal a shopping cart and it got us thinking about the other weird laws, specifically to New York, that are still technically in the penal code even though, they are not really enforced at all.

There may be one technical, old law that you keep breaking during COVID-19, though.

Here is one law in New York you may find ironic, Codes.FindLaws.com says:

It is illegal to congregate in public with two or more people while each wearing a mask or any face covering which disguises your identity."

Hmmm, with all of the mask wearing now, you probably have broken this a time or two....or 50. I mean, we HAVE to wear the mask now, but you have to admit this is kind of ironic that it is still on the books.

Here are a few more strange weird ones that you should look at, according to LITE987.com:
1.) New Yorkers cannot dissolve a marriage for irreconcilable differences unless they both agree to it.
2.) A person may not walk around on Sundays with an ice cream cone in his/her pocket.
3.) While riding in an elevator, one must talk to no one, and fold his hands while looking toward the door.
4.) You may not smoke within 100 feet of the entrance to a public building.
5.) Slippers are not to be worn after 10:00 PM.
6.) It is illegal for a woman to be on the street wearing “body hugging clothing”.
Citizens may not greet each other by “putting one’s thumb to the nose and wiggling the fingers” LOL
