The Buffalo Sabres closed out the preseason schedule with a 5 to 4 win over the New York Islanders Friday night in Oshawa, Ontario.  Jeff Skinner scored a pair of goals to lead the Sabres while Rasmus Dahlin scored his first goal of the preseason and assisted another in what was clearly his best game so far.

Zemgus Girgensons and Casey Nelson had the other Buffalo goals while Carter Hutton stopped 19 shots including some good ones late in the third period while the Islanders were trying to tie it up.  Former Sabre Robin Lehner played the first two periods for the Islanders.

The Sabres roster stands at 32 players and they need to make nine moves to get down to the regular season roster limit of 23.  Who might some of those players be?  With so many good young players making a case for themselves in the preseason, players like Johann Larsson, Zemgus Girgensons, Nathan Beaulieu, and even Jason Pominville could be considered on the way out.

The Sabres completed the preseason with a record of 3-4-0.  They open the regular season Thursday night at home against the Boston Bruins.
