For former Buffalo Sabres captain Jason Pominville it was a script that couldn't have played out any better.  He scored the winning goal in his first game against his old team to give the Minnesota Wild a 2-1 win Monday night at First Niagara Center.  But with the Sabres averaging just one goal a game in the their first seven games just about any goal could turn out to be a game winner.  He says it was a good ending to an emotional day for him -

The Sabres have yet to win this season after seven games and although their defensive play is improving they just can't find the chemistry to score goals.  Brian Flynn scored the lone Buffalo goal and he says there are some positive signs -

The second period was delayed for about 10 minutes because the lights failed to come back on and they had to wait until they came back up to full power.  It was later in the second period that Pominville turned the lights out on the Sabres, but he still feels for the guys in the other room -

The Sabres play the Islanders in New York on Tuesday night.
