The personal finance website WalletHub has put together a list of places to celebrate one of the year's most romantic days.

It shouldn't be hard to figure out that the best place in the country to celebrate New Year's Eve is New York City. But how about Buffalo?

November is Diabetes Awareness month, a good time for some people to re-examine their diets and lifestyle.  The personal finance website WalletHub has done some research into which states in the country might be considered the fattest states and the results might surprise you.

I always look forward to these WalletHub reports.  WalletHub is a financial analysis website that on a regular basis turns out surveys and reports on various topics.  Their latest report is 2017's Best Small Cities in America.

WalletHub has released its latest rankings of the nation's Colleges and Universities.  The financial website compared 1,000 colleges and universities across the country to determine the best performing schools at the best possible price.

In the years since Buffalo's glory days, heavy industry has been replaced with financial services, medical research, technology and education.  And Buffalo has seen slight growth over the past few years, although its been ever so slight. ...

Most people can expect to move at least 11 times in their lives.  Most often it's the result of employment opportunities or family changes.  Sometimes it's just the pursuit of something different.  Ideally you want to pick a place that's good for raising a family, but there are so many factors involved how do you sort them all out?

How does Buffalo fare among the country's best-run cities?  In an analysis of the country's 150 biggest cities Buffalo came in at 124, placing it in the bottom third.  But that shouldn't be surprising.  Most of the larger cities in the country rank toward the bottom of the list because of high unemployment rates and low average personal income meaning higher expenses for cities.

In terms of the economy and the job market I've seen Buffalo go from boom to bust over a period of decades.  During the 1950's and 60's, Buffalo was booming with heavy industry providing plenty of high paying jobs.  It was hard work, but they provided families with a good income.

I came across a survey that ranks the best places to visit in the summer taking into consideration a number of factors like travel cost, local attractions and weather conditions and the Buffalo-Niagara Falls area ranked only 69th of the 80 destinations surveyed.  OK, I can live with that.  With all the different places in the United States people could travel to, this area is probably not very hig
