14 Years Ago: Little Big Town Hits The Top 10 With “Boondocks”
Can you believe it's been 14 years since "Boondocks" reached the top 10? It's one of the most recognized country songs of the past 20 years but it never even made it to the top.
Believe it or not though, "Boondocks" wasn't Little Big Town's first single.
Back in 2002, Little Big Town were actually first signed to Monument Records and released two singles. Both of them failed to reach the top 30 at radio.
After being away in 2003 and 2004, they signed with Clint Black's record label, Equity Music Group.
"Boondocks" was released in the summer of 2005 and eventually climbed all the way to number nine on both Mediabase and Billboard Airplay.
It was so refreshing back then and the end of the song really sets it apart -- when they trade vocals. Who knows what happens if "Boondocks" is never released...
