Family Fun events all week!

Since the 4^th of July this year is on a Wednesday you probably should start celebrating now and make it last all the way till next weekend!  Don’t worry about planning activities because there is a lot happening around town that you are not going to want to miss!  Here are just a few that I would definitely check out!

Tomorrow at the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society (aka the History Museum in Buffalo) is hosting their Family Day Celebration.  In commemoration of the 150^th Anniversary of the American Civil War they will have activities you can participate in.  You’ll get the chance to check out solider re-enactors, artillery and Calvary demos, and even tours.  Along with that you’ll get to participate in a scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, and even grab a hot dog from the grill!  Admission into the Family Day Celebration is only $5 for all children.  Family Day Celebration is being held tomorrow from 1p to 4p. 

Then on Monday head over to the Central Wharf for Fins, Furs, and Feathers.  The name says it all!  You can join the Tifft Nature Preserve and the Buffalo Museum of Science at the Erie Canal Harbor at Canal side – the Central Wharf to celebrate 150 years of Buffalo Science.  You’ll learn all about amazing animals that are everything – in the water, on the land, or even in the air!  Learn more about the animals that call Tifft and Western New York Home.  The event is Free and open to the Public and runs from 11am to 2pm on Monday.

Of course then you have Wednesday which is the 4^th of July.  In the village of Orchard Park they will have their 4^th of July Parade starting at 8pm.  The Parade will assemble at 7pm at the Orchard Park High School and then proceed south on Baker Road, Right on to Quaker Road, and left onto South Lincoln Avenue.  Following the parade make sure you stick around for the awards that will be presented at the Pavilion after the Parade.  Of course what 4^th of July would it be without fireworks!  They will start the fireworks on Wednesday at 9:45p.
