What a strange story this is.

I am not going to name anyone for the sake of them and both parties' families. You might remember the beginning of this story from last year.

Finding someone to watch the dog.

A man was going to be going out of town for an extended period of time and needed someone to watch his dog. The dog is a mixed-breed terrier named “Nyxxi. The woman he hired was supposed to watch Nyxxi until August 1st of last year. She claimed to have been a vet tech and had a lot of experience watching dogs.

She won't give the dog back.

The woman kept refusing to give the dog back. On August 5th the man went to the house to get Nyxxi and the woman said that the dog got loose from her car in Orchard Park. He called the police to report the incident.

The police get a warrant.

The Lancaster Police do a great job of stepping in right away and get a search warrant for where the dog was supposed to be staying. They find NINE dogs on the property all injured.

According to WIVB: "Nyxxi, who was injured, was taken to an emergency veterinarian’s office where she was treated for a fractured and dislocated forearm, a laceration on her neck, and missing teeth."

Not getting sentenced until August 1st, 2023.

The 47-year-old Lancaster woman pleaded guilty to animal cruelty yesterday (May 16), but won't get sentenced until August 1, 2023. She could spend up to one year in jail.
