Fireworks Happening EVERY DAY in WNY Starting Next Week

Every day starting May 19 there will be a firework show in Western New York. The shows will last approximately 5 minutes. In addition to the fireworks, there will also be a light show or sorts.

Starting next Friday, May 19, 2023 Niagara Falls will have a firework displays every single day that will run through October 9, 2023. You'll be able to not only visit the incredible falls themselves but also go check out the fireworks at the same time. If you have not checked out the falls in a while, this is the perfect opportunity. How many times have you been to Niagara Falls while living in Western New York? Sometimes we take it for granted living so close.

There is a Niagara Falls Illumination Board which recently was redone. All of the lights behind the Falls will be visible every night at dusk. Now you can see the Falls lit up in a different array of colors because of the new LED technology. They increase both the display’s brightness and energy efficiency.

EXTRA: I have lived my entire life in Western New York I admit to sometimes taking them for granted. There were some facts we learned that you might find super interesting about Niagara Falls:

• The water goes over the falls at 32 feet per second, hitting the base of the Falls with 280 tons of force at the American and Bridal Veil Falls and 2,509 tons of force at the Horseshoe Falls.
• Niagara Falls is capable of producing over 4 million kilowatts of electricity, which is shared by the United States and Canada.
• Over 12,000 years ago, Niagara Falls extended seven miles downriver to what is now Lewiston, New York, and Queenston, Ontario. Over the years, the brink has eroded, sometimes as much as six feet per year, to its present site.
